New Eurobodalla Health and Fitness Groups – online via ZOOM
How to keep active whilst isolating at home.
People throughout the world are currently nervous about the potential impact of COVID-19. Staying at home and reducing our physical contact is extremely important to keep our community safe. Unfortunately, isolating at home can cost us our social connections and our physical health. So it’s now more important than ever to remember the benefits of physical activity and exercise in supporting our immune systems and our mental health and find ways to keep active while staying at home.
Eurobodalla Exercise Physiology’s, Hamish Gorman says “Exercise also plays an important role in preventing and managing many health conditions including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, respiratory conditions, and osteoporosis, just to name a few. Letting go of exercise can result in a worsening of these conditions and a deterioration of your health.”
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is the use of digital information and communication technologies, such as computers and mobile devices, to access health care and exercise services remotely and manage your health. It provides you with the ability to still receive specialist health care without the need to travel.
You are now able to access Telehealth to talk to your doctor or allied health practitioner
You don’t need to be a techwhiz to use telehealth. If you have a smart phone (a phone with internet and a camera) or a computer with internet access and a webcam, then you have everything you need to access telehealth. If you don’t have these, you can also just organise a regular chat over the phone!
