The Queen Street Medical Centre has a mission statement that refers to our shared journey. I am confronting an illness that will see our paths separate for a period of time.  I will now need to attend to all of the medical investigations, procedures and treatments that are advised to allow me to regain my health.

I am now being asked to do what I have been asking of you over the years. The strength and resilience you have shown me in the years we have been together as doctor and patient is the template that I can follow through this time.

So many of you have grown into friends over these many years. I am humbled but bolstered by the overwhelming flow of love and support that is flowing to me and the courage it brings to myself and my family.

The support for me from the Queen Street Medical practice team has been delivered to me with unconditional generosity. They are a highly dedicated group of professionals who will deliver you exceptional medical care. They will all share the responsibility of your care and advocacy. I deeply understand this as a doctor, colleague and now patient.

I may not be there for you physically for a while but will always be there in spirit. Continue to strive for Better Health in yourself, which was always our shared goal and my greatest reward.
