ELIGIBLE FOR THE FREE FLU SHOT? Vaccines are available
If you are eligible for a free government flu vaccination we have vaccines in stock.
There is no need to phone us – our vaccination clinics remain open for ONLINE booking – click on the online booking link at the top of the Home page.
To check your eligibility to receive the Dept of Health-free vaccine read the information below.
As we receive the Department of Health vaccines, we are running three concurrent Flu Vaccine Clinics most weekdays to both manage the demand and minimise the risk of COVID-19 infection via social distancing at the clinic.
Each flu season, we give over 4,000 flu vaccinations to our patients however the quantity and at times, the availability of the influenza vaccines are out of our control. Please do not call us. Stay tuned to our site. Dr Neil Starmer, practice director urges all our patients to “please be patient. At the moment influenza is not around.”
If you normally purchase your flu vaccine from our practice please see more information in Latest news.
Step 1: First check your eligibility for the free vaccine here
The following groups are eligible to receive free government-funded influenza vaccinations:
- pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy)
- children aged 6 months to less than 5 years
- people 65 years and older
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 6 months and older
People 6 months and older with medical conditions that put them at risk of severe influenza, including:
- heart disease
- kidney disease

- chronic neurological conditions
- impaired immunity

Step 2: If you are eligible for the free vaccine – here’s how to book online when the clinics open
Please don’t book a face to face appointment just for your flu vaccination – please book into the Flu Vaccine Clinic online.
Click on our BOOK ONLINE button at the top of the Home Page
Please select a time in any one of the 3 clinics – these are running concurrently so we can vaccinate 3 patients every 15 minutes.
e.g. Two people wanting to come together would try to find the same time in either clinics 1, 2 or 3 as an example you would book –
Flu vaccine clinic 1: 10 am: A Jones | Flu vaccine clinic 2: 10 am: B Jones
We will ask you to wait for 10 minutes after your vaccination which is the usual health protocol.
If you are pregnant or a child 16 years and under, or if you have purchased your own vaccine – you may book a face to face appointment to have your flu shot.
